Description
The 1L size of Summer Algicide for Pools.
Meet Deep Blue Summer Algicide, built to keep your pool free of algae right through the summer. This slow-release algaecide is highly effective, giving outstanding control over algae growth from a single 1-litre dose. Put an end to constant algae battles and enjoy crystal-clear water for 3 to 6 months in a 14,500L pool.
Made for easy use, Deep Blue Summer Algicide takes the effort out of pool care, giving long-lasting algae protection when used as directed. Keep your pool at its best by sticking to the pH sensitive guidance, keeping the water within the optimal 7.2 to 7.6 range. For the best results, avoid adding chlorine within 24 hours before or after treatment to keep it working effectively.
Whether your pool is chlorinated or brominated, tiled or lined, Deep Blue Summer Algicide suits a wide range of pool types, giving owners flexibility and convenience. Note, however, that it should not be used in pools treated with Revacil/Baquacil, to keep compatibility and effectiveness intact.
For the best results, follow these easy steps when using Deep Blue Summer Algicide:
- Bring your pool’s pH into the recommended 7.2-7.6 range to create the right conditions for it to work effectively.
- Pour the specified amount directly over the water inlets so it can spread evenly through the pool, keeping the filter system running for thorough distribution.
- Keep an eye on the Total Copper residual using a copper Pooltester, checking monthly and adding a repeat dose if the residual drops below 0.4mg/l to maintain effective algae control.
With Deep Blue Summer Algicide taking care of algae, you can enjoy a summer of fun and relaxation without worrying about your pool. Benefit from clean, algae-free water that leaves you more time to sit back and enjoy a refreshing swim. Choose Deep Blue Summer Algicide and see the difference it makes in keeping your pool pristine and inviting all summer long.

Fairly very easy to use and reliable. It is similar to the other tests in the range, but I usually double up on the reagent and the test sample to get a more discernible result, especially when testing phosphates at the lower end of the scale. Mrs Elizabeth Anderson (verified owner) –
Having a holiday cottage with hottub, and regularly suffering from murky water I needed a product that could cure this issue. I was actually pretty sceptical but there were lots of reviews saying how good these products were so I took the plunge and ordered both the algae remover and the water clarifier.
Unfortunately, being impulsive, I used a splash of both products in the hope of curing the current problem quickly, and reset my filter timer to give it a long blast of filtering!
The good news is the water was clearer than clear in approx 9 hours (when i came back to check it – it could have been quicker but I was asleep) and no sign of the old socks smells that we had experienced previously when water went murky.
I’d fully recommend these two products, but unfortunately i cant say at this time which of the products made the difference! Next time I’ll use one on its own so may update this review if I remember.

Accurate and straightforward to use. Fast shipping and delivery, and the product build quality is solid.
Ms Jaspreet P. Bailey (verified owner) –
Elegant colour rendering and a scale in steps of 0.2, and I very like being able to check the phosphate level two or three times a week so I can top it back up and keep the nitrates where I want them. The colours are far better than the other phosphate test I own. I tested both at the same time and the other one was less consistent, with a scale spread too widely in steps of 0.5 ppm. The set includes a little spoon for the powder, but remember to use the smaller end for scooping. The glass containers are the same quality as the other kit, but the caps are far better because there is no aluminium backed paper that peels apart, just a fairly firm foam insert that does not come apart in the stopper. I am not sure it shows in the photos, but with the naked eye the difference is obvious.

For me it seems like the nitrate test in the master kit consistently runs out first, and the first part of the test more so than the second part. Being able to buy just the nitrate kit on its own when it is on offer is an excellent option.

It cost a little more than the other big online seller, however I needed this quicker than they could manage. I need it for measuring the dilution of the bleach I use for cleaning. I use one solution for everyday food the service level sanitation, and another stronger one for cleaning the bathroom and toilet at home. It does the job.
Mrs Daniel Fleming (verified owner) –
A solid item, although slightly clearer instructions would help. It works fine and there is a sudden colour change, but as a first time user it would have been helpful if the instructions had said that the change was from pink to blue. The first couple of drops took it from clear to pink, which is also a colour change but not the one I was looking for.

A speedy and effective in store purchase. The product itself is long lasting and highly effective.

Delivery was very fast and the item was packed carefully. I ordered and it arrived within two days. Very pleased overall and I will definitely buy again.
Colin Henderson (verified owner) –
Excellent when you are cycling a tank, but you need the more advanced version to keep an eye on nitrate levels once it is up and running. Perfectly usable.

Miss Neha Holmes (verified owner) –
A solid quality product. I have bought it several times before and it works really well.
Ms Priya L. Ward (verified owner) –
I read about this before buying and it’s a new, dependable and easy testing method. I tried it on some pretty vintage plates I picked up second hand and two out of three tested positive for lead, so we will not be using them for food any more. The test is very easy indeed, you put one drop of the liquid on the surface you want to test and then shine the included UV light on it, and if it goes green there is lead.
Dr Ian X. Jackson (verified owner) –
I’ve consistently used this weekly in our swimming pool and it keeps it free of algae. It has become quite expensive now though.

Very straightforward, good value for money and honestly easy to test the water quality.

Decent value. With the price of the reagents I was using going up, I tried this kit instead, and it is much easier to test with as there is no powder to deal with. I tested on three separate occasions and both kits came close to the same answers, though the older one gave a slightly more definite answer. It comes down to how hard you chase numbers, and in my opinion this one is better value for the money.
David A. Thompson –
So very easy to use, and the result shows up fast and is simple to read off the chart.
Megan McLean –
Easy to use and easy to read the outcome, the colour change is clear and comes through without any delay.
Miss Jacob Hall –
Very happy overall, although I do think the algae treatment is struggling to clear my algae because of the genuinely prolonged hot weather, which keeps the water too warm.
Mrs Stuart Hamilton (verified owner) –
They do as intended and I’m happy with the answers, which are better than the cheaper alternatives.
Miss Saad H. Holmes –
It arrived safely and postage was fast. Thanks to the seller, it was wrapped in a good number of bubble wrap.
