Description

Sold here as the 1Kg size.

Among the most widely used products for keeping pool and spa water safe and bacteria-free, these chlorine granules are a reliable choice for regular sanitising.

nn

Dose regularly to maintain the recommended free chlorine level of 3-5 mg/l (ppm) in hot tubs or 1-3 mg/l (ppm) in swimming pools. These granules dissolve quickly, last well and have only a minor effect on the water’s pH.  They also work well for shock dosing small above ground pools.  Dosing amounts are set out below.

nn

Key Features

nn

Chlorine granules affect water pH only slightly. Regularly dosing your swimming pool or spa with these stabilised granules generates free active chlorine that kills off bacteria and other potentially harmful organisms.

nn

Application Instructions

nn

1. Maintain pH level within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6. If outside this range please use our PH plus or PH minus products to adjust for the best results.

nn

2. Maintain free chlorine residuals for spas within the range 3 – 5mg/l (ppm).  For swimming pools it should be 1 – 3mg/l (ppm). Freshly filled spas require an initial shock or start up dose of chlorine: 50mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.

nn

3. This product may be applied directly to pools or spas where temperatures exceed 20  degrees C. If below this temperature or in doubt it is recommended to pre-dissolve in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 10g of product per 0.2 gallons (1ltr) in water. Stir well to ensure product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the spa or pool whilst the pumps are turned ‘on’.

nn

4. Repeat dose application if necessary to achieve the required levels.

nn

5. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly or after heavy spa use) shock dose your spa to eliminate any excess contamination.

nn

Dose Rates

nn

Medium hot tub 1,000 litre (220 Gallons) of water requires 2g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 6g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

nn

Large hot tub 1,500 litre (330 Gallons) of water requires 3g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 9g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

nn

Small pool 40,000 litres of water requires 80g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 240g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

nn

Medium pool 60,000 litres of water requires 120g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 360g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

nn

Large pool 80,000 litres of water requires 160g to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or 480g to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

Ive only given 4 stars rather than the 5 it deserves because the product was advertised as DeepBlue Chlorine and is, in fact, the vendors own label brand. That said it performs the same job for the same quantity added. It doesnt dissolve quite as quickly as the DeepBlue Granules I started with, but I can put up with a couple of extra stirs for the value for money. No idea why they dont advertise it as it is….it is a good product and would get 5 stars from me if they did.

  221. Mr Anthony Gallagher –

I ordered this item on the tuesday evening and it was here by courier the thursday morning which was great.the type of chemicals and amount is what i ordered by it isnt the DeepBlue brand. It is made by a company called SCP.I am new to using chemicals for a spa so i have to assume that it is still right and will work ok but I had ordered this thinking it was the same brand as the DeepBlue starter kit i had previously bought. I wanted it to be the same so that i could be sure that the instructions were the same as what i have gotten used to.Hopefully there will not be any problem with it but i am rather disappointed as i hate it when the brand and product that is sent is not what was advertised.I will update this review once we have used it a few times and can vouch for its quality.

  222. Miss Lucy Doyle (verified owner) –

Its that time of year our pools are opened up and heating is on and burning holes in our pockets, and the rain keeping us away from having a dip. chemicals are over the top expensive, but this chlorine was delivered to my door within 48hrs and the product no different in anyway than my driving 12 miles to the closest pool chemical store and being ripped off for 30 quid.I am very pleased with the product, the price and the delivery time. This seller will be my monthly buy..

  332. Mrs Ellis U. Gallagher –

Just received these granules and whilst they are in the DeepBlue packaging they are very different from the original granules that I have purchased in the starter kit directly from here.DeepBlue granules look round amp coated like small granules, these look like chalky flakes or small rocks. This is clearly not the same product.I am not sure if its the seller or DeepBlue have actually changed their chlorine, but as a consumer I expect chlorine that is branded as DeepBlue to be identical in all tubs.

  333. Mrs Rishi Wood –

I would not recommend these granules at all, the chlorine level dissipated very quickly, even without the hot tub being use it went murky within two days. All other alkaline and ph levels are fine, and Id never had this before with my previous brand FiChlor. Ill be sticking to FiChlor in future, I inly went with this because Id run out and the delivery was quick, lesson learnt

After ordering granules I was sent tablets. Contacted the company and was answered by an automated email, which was both annoying and frustrating. It wasnt until I sent my third email that I got a response that contained information and was told that someone else had changed their order and so were given the last pack of granules and so I was sent tablets. I was told to crush the tablets and that would treat the water the same as the granules. I was also offered a price difference refund of 4 which I thought was reasonable, but when we tried to crush the tablets and use them, it didnt work as advised and so I had to email again requesting either the granules or a refund and again got the automated system.I then received a message to say that a refund had been arranged through hereIf it wasnt for the fact that I was on a tight time limit for the product, I probably wouldnt have found it all so annoying, but I was, so i did
