Description

This is the 1Kg option of Large 200g Stabilised Chlorine Tablets.

Widely used to keep swimming pool water safe and free of bacteria, these chlorine tablets are stabilised against chlorine loss from sunlight and release their chlorine gradually over 3-5 days, depending on how much water flows past them.

Use them in floating dispensers, chemical feeders or skimmer baskets, whichever suits your setup.

Dose regularly to keep free chlorine at the recommended 3-5 mg/l (ppm) in hot tubs or 1-3 mg/l (ppm) in swimming pools. Slow release and long lasting, these tablets have as little effect on water pH as you’ll find in a stabilised chlorine tablet.

Key Features

It’s best to keep a free chlorine range of 3 – 5mg/l for hot tubs and 1-3mg/l for swimming pools. These stabilised tablets are well suited to regular pool dosing, generating free active chlorine that kills bacteria and other potentially harmful organisms, with a high level of both available chlorine and chlorine stabiliser.

Application Instructions

1. Maintain pH level within the ideal range of 7.2 – 7.6. If outside this range please use our PH plus or PH minus products to adjust for the best results.

2. Maintain free chlorine residuals for swimming pools between 1 – 3mg/l (ppm). Freshly filled pools require an initial shock or start up dose of chlorine: 50mg/l (ppm) for 1 hour or 20mg/l (ppm) for 2 hours.

3. For floating dispenser: Fill the floating dispenser with tablets and adjust the aperture mechanism at the bottom of the dispenser to obtain the 1-3mg/l (ppm) desired range. Alternatively keep the dispenser aperture constant and vary the tablets inside to achieve 1-3mg/l (ppm). The dispenser should be removed from the pool whilst swimmers are bathing.

4. For chlorine feeders: Fill the dispenser and follow feeder instruction manuals on flow regulation to maintain 1-3 mg/l (ppm) chlorine levels.

5. For skimmer baskets: Fill the basket with 2/3 tablets and monitor levels to maintain 1-3 mg/l (ppm) chlorine levels.

6. It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. fortnightly or after heavy use) shock dose your pool to eliminate any excess contamination.

Note: If using in skimmer baskets we would suggest you run the pump often to prevent a build up of chlorine. Please ensure children to not have access to the skimmer as this could be dangerous.

Dose Rates (subject to water flow rate and temperature)

Small pool 40,000 litres of water requires approx 1 tablet to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or approx 3 tablets to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

Large pool 80,000 litres of water requires approx 2 tablets to increase the chlorine level by 1mg/l (ppm) or approx 6 tablets to increase chlorine level by 3mg/l(ppm)

  24. Dr Ciara X. Thomas –

This arrived promptly and looks like it does what it should, however, there were no instructions as to how to use, how many tablets to use and tablets were in clear polythene bag. Bearing in mind that the majority of people who might purchase this are probably doing it for their childrens pool this is not exactly a very satisfactory state of affairs. This is now the third purchase I have made on here when tablets or powder has come in such a method. Think that it should be stated on the product page that this is the case and then you have a choice. Would imagine too that couriers wouldnt be too impressed that they were delivering unlabelled chemicals SORT IT OUT here

Cheaper than the DeepBlue version by a fiver albeit the price of all tablets has gone up by 33 due to COVID. everyone staying at home buying a hot tub instead of holidaying equals price increases unfortunately it seems.

  103. Anthony W Homer (verified owner) –

Ordered 2 packs a few months ago…the first pack was fine; worked & lasted as well as expected. The contents of the 2nd tub however didn’t smell of chlorine, didn’t treat the water in our hot tub, dissolved in a matter of hours & my daughter developed several patches of red, sore skin after bathing in the water that 2 of the tablets had dissolved in!…In the process of sending them for analysis to find out what they actually contain. When contacted, the seller ‘Denny Enterprise’ sent a very non committal, dismissive response so will definitely not be buying products from them in the future & would recommend others give them a miss too!

  104. Philip Mendham (verified owner) –

Be careful about paying extra for brand names, check the chemical composition you will find most are the same, they will have fancy names for things but in the longer run, its the active chemicals – in this case chlorine. These tablets were not only cheaper than the brand name were identical

Does what it says on the tin… spa water getting a tad dirty/smelly? Forgotten to maintain it? Add 3 or 4 of these chlorine tab things to the outflow and your water should be all clean and clear within a day. Word of advice…dont smell them when you open the tub or breathe in near them unless you like coughing with a burning sensation up your nose! P.S. I told you…. you cant esist… dont smell them!

Great gadget for my pool. I am not sure how many litres my pool is but it is round and takes about an hour and a half to fill and when I am sat in it, it reaches my chest. I used this chlorine dispenser along with the strips to check that the level of chlorine was right and have found it has kept my pool clean for two weeks. I have decided to pour the water out after this time but the chlorine has kept it clean and the children have really enjoyed it.

  302. barbs (verified owner) –

great little kit for the kids inflatable pool – thus far along with a cover, filter pump and net the water is still crystal clear and according to the test strips spot onRemember to take out of the pool when the kids are in and put somewhere out of reach as they will find it and put it back in to play with as a toy 🙂

  303. Alli (verified owner) –

The dispenser and chlorine tablets arrived today and it was so simple to set up and get in the pool. The instructions weren’t great, because it isn’t clear how many tablets should go in at a time.. surely it depends on the amount of water in the pool? I didn’t want to put too much in in case the chlorine levels got too high so I used one tablet for a 10ft round pool and will replace it when fully dissolved, probably in a week or so. Great product otherwise tho!

  304. Karen Waterman (verified owner) –

Very disappointed very small dispenser (had to buy another) only small pack of tester strips. My keeps well with 2 dispensers now.

  394. ToniAnn Williams –

This is the first time using this brand on my pool. We have a 12 foot. The other brand I used, I generally kept topped up to at least 3 in the dispenser and the test strips indicated perfect levels. This was more value for money when I had to buy more as I needed more strip tests too. After looking through numerous reviews I decided to try. The dispenser is the same as the one I already have, but this one seems to shut up better than my other one which is a plus already because the tablets when they come out bleach the bottom of the pool.It says to keep the dispenser topped up, I’ve got 4 in, can fit more but I don’t want too much in, checked levels everyday and they are in perfect range. This is being used with an intex pump too.No problems to date and working just as well as the others I was using!

  474. John Connor –

These are the BIG BOY Size

  475. Freaky –

Something so simple and cheap saved me a summer time of constantly changing the water in our 10ft pool. It stopped the water turning green, you know like it does when it’s been just sitting in the pool for a few days. I would recommend this to anybody who has a large paddling pool.

  476. alan burt –

    Do the job brill!

    Good quality chlorine

  499. Schmitz (verified owner) –

Tablets were good! But, the dispenser was not good. Even with the dial on minimum, the tablets would dilute far too fast! Our hot tub ended up with very high chlorine levels after using this for 1 week. Ending up throwing away the dispenser.

  500. RRM (verified owner) –

Came well wrapped by Vinsani. I only ever use DeepBlue tablets so can’t compare to other brands.

  510. Philip Mcinley (verified owner) –

Being new to ‘pool care’ this summer after buying a 15ft above ground pool on a whim, I had no idea what I needed in terms of chemicals and it was all statting to look a bit complicated! Enter this product!!Dead easy to use in my small floating dispenser and keeps the water crystal clear and the bottom of the pool non slippery. It’s probably jot very scientific but I just fill the floating thing with tablets and when they’ve dissolved down to about half the size, I top it back up. Seems to be working like a charm.

I was having problems with our pool going green and had been faffing about with other chemicals but these tablets have worked a treat and are so much easier to use. Pool looks great again.

  597. Tawnycat –

This is ok, but you need substantial amounts of teaspoons to equate to the tablet, which have the slow release. This is awkward to use, I wish I had just stuck with the tablets instead.

  599. Silvia mc (verified owner) –

This product did not get delivered on it’s estimated delivery date. But I assume that it was the postal services fault. I contacted the company and they were more than helpful when immediately sending a replacement. The product itself is exactly as advertised, a very simple, but effective device. The tablets are of great quality and come in a separate re-sealable bag (but the smell is still pretty strong). 1 tablet has kept my 10 ft swimming pool crystal clear for a week at the time of writing this. Would greatly recommend.

OK and do seem to keep the hot tub clear but quite a few have refused to dissolve so you go to your tub after a few days to find it murky with undissolved tablets in the dispenser.

Everything works as you would expect, but there are no instructions for the tablets and although the test strips say a quantity of 50, I received (at best) 20 in my pack. The packaging could have been better for the plastic dispenser too – had been bashed about quite a lot, as there was no padding, and some cracks were visible but thankfully not anywhere that stops it working.

Help I have the Lazy Spa Palm Springs and found these tablets to be the best thing since the granules …. But my readings are over the scale I tend to but two tablets in 50 gm each when they have dissolved should I be using one not got a clue first time I’ve ever bought or used a hot tub I’ve tried all means even on granular and that used to ruin the water but these work fantastic

  727. linh huynh (verified owner) –

Using these for my Lay-z-spa within the floating dispenser and they seem to be working fine to maintain the Chlorine/PH levels. The water did become cloudy though at one stage and these weren’t getting rid of the issue on their own so i had to buy extra clarifier sachets and after 2 doses they cleared the water fine within about 24 hours. These mini-tablets now seem to be stabilising the water clarity and ph levels properly since then though.

  728. Gene P –

They are very necessary for your hot tub, but do remember to take the holder out when you are using the tub. What can I say about the tablets they come in a big plastic tub which will lats along time at the rate of one tablet a week. It was a quick delivery time and I have no problems with the purchase or delivery. I know where to go for my restock when I run out.

The only bad thing about these are that they do not dissolve in normal water at all, so if you want to get to them to dissolve you may have to boil water. Other than that they are quite useful.

  773. Jerry Ridout –

I brought this pack for my hot tub and its a cheap ripoff.1. The indicator panel to tell you what colours you need to match seems to be printed off a cheap £30 epson printer and does not even match the colours on their own website! So no way to see what your results are if they worked.2. They dont work anyway. I dipped 3 strips across 3 days and even dipped one in vinegar (well below the ph!) and none of them changed colour at all – take a look at the photos. They all look the same and thts because the colour does not change whatsoever. You may as well dip any old bit of paper in there.3. Customer service was rubbish, didnt reply in more than 5 words at a time and then wouldnt even give me a refund or send new strips. Just sent me £2….AVOID AVOID AVOID

I bought these for convenience, hoping to keep my chlorine levels at their correct levels. After a couple of weeks of use, I had to buy grandpas and top up the levels as these alone just do not work. I now use them combined which has doubled the cost but seems to work. It just means I’m back to daily maintenance which I’d hoped these would avoid.

  839. Nigel Kapoor –

This stuff appears to be very effective at helping keep the pool nice and clean and, more importantly, algaefree. The chlorine tablets take ages to dissolve, so our pool doesnt stink of chlorine.IMPORTANT From my experience, this works at its best when used in a pool with a filter pump.

  844. Selina Sch (verified owner) –

These tablets aren’t that good for inflatable spas as they don’t completely dissolve in the water, even using the dispenser. this results in lot of bits at the bottom of your hot-tub which also blocks the inlet valve for the filter which causes the pump to stall so beware

  845. Carlos de Jesus Rios Fajardo (verified owner) –

One tablet a week in the floating dispenser of my Lay-Z-Spa Miami keeps the water clean and clear. Much much easier than using the granulated chemicals, and gives an even dosage over a number of days. Brilliant!

  946. Tom Herzog –

I want to start the review with the positive, the seller was very prompt at returning messages and offered either a return or a 20% refund. I couldn’t have asked for more from them as they are not the manufacturer! The product is not very good though, I bought this as recommended by lay z spa but once we put the tablets into the provided chemical dispenser and left overnight we woke up to find it had bleached our brand new hot tub. Not happy at all! The chlorine levels were at a safe level so I have no idea how this has happened. I have read this has happened to a few people, I am going to try a floating dispenser to see if that works better. I’m trying to contact the manufacturer to complain but so far no response from them.

I’ve been trying to use Chlorine tablets in my lazy spa for sometime and i’ve decided to switch back to the granules after several weeks of no success with these. Why is this you may ask? Well if you asked a handful of people how much salt they like on their popcorn or how they like their steak cooked most people would have a different answer. You make it to order! Now imagine the same situation but you only had 1 product.. rare steak and heavy salted popcorn, it wouldn’t work and this is the issue with the chlorine tablets. Your trying to guess the demands of your lazy spa using a pre made product. With the chlorine granules you take a dip test and depending on the colour you know how many grams to add to the water. With the tablets while you can adjust the floating dispenser by opening the little flaps to limit how much chlorine is released; the time in which this takes is much greater then the granules and you don’t really know how much is being released, i.e a new tablet compared to a 3 day old tablet is different in size and the amount its releasing. If your not too fused about keeping your lazy spa on the nose then yeah shove one of these in every 3 or 4 days but if you want your lazy spa fine tuned get the granules.

I used this to clear green algae from our water feature, worked perfectly within 48 hours. 1 tablet was overkill with quite a strong smell but that has now cleared. Have bought a floating dispenser which appears to control the release.of the chemicals.

Last year got our 10ft pool with whole load of chemicals. Increase ph, decrease ph, chlorine etc… Still went green. Added this to the pool this year and so much easier! Chlorine levels seem to stabilise and other than algacide once in a while we’ve not had any issues. Admittedly, did change filter once more than last year, but I’d say we’ve left it pretty much to its own devices and it’s been fine. Emptied last week (for winter) and still crystal clear! Last year and this pool left for a week and turned green last year, stayed clear this year.Definitely recommend and will get tablets again for next year.

The clorine tablets case is great but the tablets don’t seem to disolve very well. Also the test strips aren’t exactly coming across very reliable: they give roughly the same reading everytime regardless of how many tablets and how long they’ve been in the pool for!? Didn’t come with instructions so we’ve had to trial/error/guess… Perhaps not the best kit to buy.

I stopped using these in my spa as while they do sanitise by adding chlorine they also make the water acidic which requires that I then treat with pH increaser. 1230. Paul Broughton (verified owner) –

After struggling to keep my hot tub chemicals in balance and needing to dose up with chlorine granules daily. At last I have found a product that works!I had two problems. Chlorine levels dropping to negligible in around 24hrs and very cloudy water. I was adding chlorine granules and liquid clarifier to my hot tub every day. Since using this my water has cleared up like fresh water and my chlorine is maintained. I put two tablets into my 930l hot tub and leave the dosing gap fully open. The tablets last about three days.

  1248. JIM JONES –

Much simpler to use than separate chemicals which I couldn’t get to grips with. I put 1-2 tablets in the floating dispenser which lasts about 3 days depending on use of hot tub (used in Lay Z Spa Monaco). I found that I needed to also purchase the DeepBlue clarifier as the tablets contain algaecide which I think is what made the water a bit cloudy..poured clarifier in and now have sparkly Deep blue too!!! Fast delivery, highly recommend for a simple way to maintain a lay z spa, very happy with my purchase. Don’t get your nose too close when opening the pot as it is a very strong smell!!!!

  1363. R. Wagner –

  1437. Lynn Tomlinson –

    Not happy

1438. Catherine Manning (verified owner) –

  1448. Serecensor (verified owner) –

We’ve had nothing but problems since using these tablets. They leave a solid deposit which never dissolves and kept clogging up the filters on our inflatable hot tub. We almost gave up on the hot tub completely because it became such a hassle to keep clearing these deposits out. We haven’t used these since we realised how bad they were and since going back to our regular brand we’ve had absolutely no problems.

  1503. Isaac P. Graham –

Seems to work on a very slow release method, as with the other reviewer the tablet is there the next morning, which brings me onto the big problem with this product. You get no instructions. Given you are dealing with Chlorine, most likely in a pool that kids will be playing in, having some sort of guide as to how much to use, what to expect etc would be nice. My guard was up immediately when the chlorine tablets arrived in a resealable plastic bag the likes of which you pick up in a supermarket. I would consider buying one of the more expensive models if im honest.

  1504. Amit Jones –

    Rubbish

I brought these Chlorine tablets for my Canadian Spa. I normally use the liquid. But I ran out of it so I brought this instead. You need to put the tablets in a floater otherwise they sink to the bottom. And is way to contrated. If you buy these for your Spa Hot Tub buy a floater just beware if you have young children these might not be suitable as children can always touch or play with the floater. I highly recommend you getting the Chlorine liquid. If you want to be sure your Spa Hot Tub is safe to use within a hour.

Read the reviews before purchasing their products. My first mistakeBuy cheap buy twice My second mistake. There is nothing on here to say this product cannot be used with other chlorine products.Since getting these tablets Ive not been able to stabilise my water quality.Ive had to have my swimspa serviced early due to terrible water quality despite using these tablets thinking I was sanitising my pool. The engineers advised this pink buildup was bacteria. We will NEVER use here products again. They need to make it clear as well on here that these products should only be used if you use bromine in your pool, as all the products we have purchased are not to be used with chlorine, we have had chlorine tablets, Ph and alkalinity increaser. All a total waste of time and waste if moneyHydropool engineers have never heard of these and know not to recommend.Terrible product

Does what it says. Stops our dogs paddling pool from furring up and going green. Perfect

Used these instead of chlorine granules in a hot tub, much better using these tabs in floating dispenser. No instructions on how to use as pointed out by other reviewers but I put 4 in the dispenser and it controls the chlorine perfectly. I just check theyre still there and will renew when dissolved. Very pleased with purchase.

This product did not get delivered on its estimated delivery date. But I assume that it was the postal services fault. I contacted the company and they were more than helpful when immediately sending a replacement. The product itself is exactly as advertised, a very simple, but effective device. The tablets are of great quality and come in a separate resealable bag but the smell is still pretty strong. 1 tablet has kept my 10 ft swimming pool crystal clear for a week at the time of writing this. Would greatly recommend.

good kept pool clear even on sunny days so stabiliser in it works

  1713. Mrs Chloe Reddy-White –

Last year got our 10ft pool with whole load of chemicals. Increase ph, decrease ph, chlorine etc… Still went green. Added this to the pool this year and so much easier Chlorine levels seem to stabilise and other than algacide once in a while weve not had any issues. Admittedly, did change filter once more than last year, but Id say weve left it pretty much to its own devices and its been fine. Emptied last week for winter and still crystal clear Last year and this pool left for a week and turned green last year, stayed clear this year.Definitely recommend and will get tablets again for next year.
